Kick-off event of the Joint Lab Künstliche Intelligenz & Data Science

The kick-off event of the Joint Lab Artificial Intelligence & Data Science took place on 12 and 13 October in Osnabrück. The programme was a successful mix of informative specialist presentations, group work and plenty of opportunity for exchange.

Representatives of the participating universities, the ATB, the DFKI Laboratory Lower Saxony, the MWK and invited guests gathered at the Coppenrath Innovation Centre for the official kick-off on 12 October for a programme of specialist presentations. Both the speakers and the newly opened event room delighted all the guests.

The kick-off event was followed by an internal workshop with the Potsdam and Osnabrück members of the Joint Lab on 13 September. The focus was on intensifying collaboration, particularly with regard to future joint projects.

For most of the doctoral students, it was the first time that they were able to get to know many of the members from both locations. The personal exchange during the group work as well as the cosy coffee and meal breaks was an excellent support for the good and productive collaboration.

International Workshop on Explainable and Interpretable Machine Learning (XI-ML)

On September 30, 2023, the International Workshop on Explainable and Interpretable Machine Learning (XI-ML) took place as part of ECAI 2023, in Krakow, Poland. This workshop was organized by the Joint Lab of Prof. Dr. Martin Atzmüller and Prof. Dr. Marina Höhne together with Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Kliegr, Prague University of Economics and Prof. Dr. Ute Schmid, University of Bamberg, organized.

Visit to the Agro-Nordwest project field day

On 28 September, we went on an excursion to the Agro-Nordwest Project's  field day. There we were able to learn a lot about modern technologies and methods for effective and sustainable agriculture as well as marvelling at field demonstrations on robotics and autonomous machines.
